Layout

Semiautomatic turntable machine.
Operating rate is 7.5 seconds (controlled from operator station). The machine is controlled by a supervisory PC, fastened on a pulpit mounted on a system rotating around the island that optimises operator control management ergonomics.

Main operations

1. Feed and forced fitting of 6 rivets in gear
The station vibrator feeds 6 rivets and then, by means of a system with 6-needle head selecting units, positions these on the gear; at this point, a pressing head fits these in the gear, applying a force of 2500 kg.

2. Sub-assembly rotation and transfer from pos. A to pos. B
The station rotates the gear-rivet sub-assembly by 180° and transfers this from pos. A to pos. B on the pallet.

3. 7-rivet riveting
This operation is performed by 4 consecutive stations: the first performs riveting of 1 insert locking rivet (positioned by the operator), the other 3 perform riveting of 2 rivets by means of a riveting unit fitted to a 2-position slide.

4. Gear feed on pallets and rivet control
The station consists of 2 separate units: the first feeds and positions the gear on a pallet in position A, the second checks that the 6 rivets have been properly riveted by means of special feelers

5. Unloading of finished product on belt
The station performs good finished piece unloading onto a storage belt while rejects are directed to a storage area.
